Windows 11 Won't Play .MP4 Video Files...
So how do I fix this and Why is it not Windows 11 default?
I have the answer and the solution!
There are required Codecs (a device or program that compresses data to enable faster transmission and decompresses received data.) to encode and decode audio or video formats to play all versions of .MP4.
The software has been designed as a simple, free, and user-friendly solution for playing movie and music files. It contains a number of these codecs which are associated with modern multimedia standards. Therefore, you need a dozen or more codec bundles to enjoy your media content. I find the Klite Mega Codec offers a range of prevalent codecs to solve this problimatic .MP4 playback issue.
To be perfectly clear, according to Microsoft support, the older Windows Media Player just doesn't do well with .mp4 formats: WMP 11, WMP 10, WMP 9 Series, or the WMP for XP, WMP 7. Sadly even Windows Media Player 12 will not play all MP4 Videos, but only those encoded with MPEG-4 video codec and AAC audio codec.
